Joe Foster - Pad Na Jou Hart (Official Video)

I grew up in South Africa in an emotionally unstable environment where love was conditional and safety was an illusion. Tension was my normal. I learned early to perform, read the room, swallow my feelings for others, be more or less than what I was, and keep my true self locked down tight because its dangerous or not hitting the marks.

Vulnerability equalled danger or annoyance. Music became my only safe place to express what I couldn’t say out loud.

In my 20s I broke into the Afrikaans music scene as part of the boyband ADAM and then as a solo artist. Hits, sold-out shows, awards — from the outside it looked like success. In a conservative industry I also became one of the first to come out publicly as gay. That took courage, but coming out didn’t heal the deeper shame and fragmentation.

By my early 30s the body started screaming. I lost all my hair to alopecia universalis. Chronic myofascial pain, burnout, addiction, and nervous system collapse followed. Even after retreating to Knysna, opening a successful artisan bakery (that grew to millions revenue), and diving deep into trauma work, IFS parts work, somatic healing, and manifestation — something was still missing.

The turning point came when I asked: “Why does my body keep attacking itself no matter what I know?”

That question led me on a 10-year journey that ended in an unexpected place: ancient symbolic texts (Eden, Cain & Abel, the Four Rivers, the creation story) mapped onto modern autonomic neuroscience — polyvagal theory, heart coherence, and measurable nervous system markers.

I discovered that my symptoms weren’t random. They were the physical result of unexpressed energy. When authentic expression gets silenced (Abel suppressed by Cain), the energy has nowhere to go and bleeds back into the tissues as inflammation, autoimmune activation, pain, and alopecia — the “Mark of Cain.”

I began decoding those ancient maps into practical tools that speak the nervous system’s native language. The results have been real: sustained sobriety, 50-70% reduction in chronic pain, major drops in burnout and dissociation, improved HRV, vivid dreams, and the first signs of hair regrowth.

This became the Neuromystic™ Coherence Paradigm (NCP) — a bridge between ancient wisdom and cutting-edge nervous system science.

Today I run the OneTEN 90-Day Integration Program and I’m documenting a transparent 12-week live case study using the NCP tools I built:

  • Little Bro App – direct dialogues with your inner council (Abel the Feeler, Cain the Thinker, wounded parts)
  • Neuromystic Coherence App – maps stuck energy on the Tree of Life and generates a Coherence Score

I’m no longer just teaching integration from the mind. I’m tracking what happens in the body when we finally let Abel speak and restore balanced expression — Sun and Moon ruling in harmony again, the Light Body becoming coherent.

I still split my time between music, baking, and coaching, but my mission has evolved. I’m guiding people dealing with autoimmune issues, chronic inflammation, burnout, or nervous system dysregulation through the messy, real-time work of nervous system coherence and authentic expression — not as a guru, but as a wounded healer who’s a few steps ahead, still integrating in public.

I live in Knysna with my husband and continue to create music, content, and spaces that say: You’re not broken. You’re fragmented. And the path back to wholeness runs straight through your nervous system and your ability to express safely.

If my story resonates — especially if you’re carrying autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, trauma, addiction, or the quiet exhaustion of performing a version of yourself — you’re welcome to follow the live case study on Substack.

The Coherence Score is currently free for those who feel called.

WHAT IS YOUR COHERENCE SCORE

You don’t need to believe in anything mystical. You just need to be willing to gently explore what’s been buried inside you.
